Zen cuisine was one my favourite take-out Chili, chicken, dry, ginger, beef, chicken, sauté, mango , & hot noodles. We usually order from the Stouffville location however we moved and recently ordered from the Whitby location, unfortunately, we were less than satisfied with our $281 order, the quality of the food does not compare to Stouffville and after paying online… there was a lot of back-and-forth about whether or not they received the order at the front counter…until a lovely gentleman came out of the back with our order…the lady at the counter I have no idea about our order and was trying to convince my husband that we were at the wrong location. Not worth the money we paid!

I was part of a bait and switch scam that included the sin and Whitby ontario and Uber Eats.
I ordered the bill was supposed to be 45. They flipped it to a buck and a quarter.
So I canceled, but apparently when you cancel, you have to pay.So I got no food, no compensation.And all this happened in five minutes from my order.Time buyer bewareThe company said they'll get the bill or the money in two weeks.So I was stuck in limbo having to pay a $110 for nothing. And the company, the Zen said, sorry about your luck. Thanks for the dough and goober. Eats said it's their policy. Once you cancel, they had to cook their meat. Sorry about your luck. Just be careful before you push that. Button because the app is gonna bait and switch you. And then they're gonna laugh. Cause they just took free money for nothing

Good place for some halal Hakka food.

Food was tasty and the serving portions were good. They also have a lunch special menu on the weekdays.

Hosts were courteous and knowledgeable.

I would recommend this place for hakka their hakka offerings.

It’s a quite small space, however, wasn’t busy at all when we went there. Staff was extremely friendly and the food was great. Their Zen special chicken was really good. We ended up ordering it twice. Their menu offer both Thai and hakka and it’s halal. We went there in group of 8 and had a good quality time as a family.

Everyone keeps recommending the Zen Special Chicken. I thought it was good, but only if you like a bit of sweetness.

Hakka Spicy Noodles and Chilli Potatoes were my favorites. Veg Manchurian was pretty good too.

Do not get the fried wings. There’s no flavor or salt. Just fried battered wings.

Stopped by the Zen while visiting Stoufville and was pleasantly surprised! The portion size for the lunch menu was amazing for the price and we had lots of leftovers for home as well.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful, really enjoyed coming here.

A special mention to the kindness of the staff, they were so nice and friendly! Service was wonderful, would def stop by again!

I was able to sample a couple of different things: I tried the ginger chicken, honey garlic chicken, sweet/sour beef, spring rolls, egg fried rice, noodles. Everything was absolutely fantastic, but my personal favourite is the ginger chicken. Highly recommend. Big portion sizes, everyone at the table took a takeout box home. Came out to $27 per person.

Go to lunch place as their food is always fresh and delicious. Leslie and Ken are super host. They have excellent customer service. Probably best place for Hakka and Thai food that too 100% halal in Stoufville.

Today (Sept 30/25) was my first time at The Zen, and it was fabulous!! Their menu is very extensive, something to satisfy every palette and every dietary preference. I ordered the lunch special Hakka noodles with Malaysian curry and it did not disappoint! The portions were easily enough for 2 people. I'm a chef, well versed in flavourful Asian style cooking, and let me tell you, the meal was sooooo delicious I couldn't stop eating it! The service was quick and polite. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Don't waste time go there today!
