We were quickly greeted by Leslie, who was very pleasant and answered our questions regarding halal meat which she confirmed (Sargent farms supplies chicken and St.Helel supplies beef).
We were seated at a booth that was comfortable and clean, and Leslie came over promptly to take our orders. We had szechuan chicken, sesame chicken, and special fried rice. Everything was fresh, hot, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. The portions were huge and we ended up taking some home!
Definitely must try and we will definitely be back!

Amazing, fresh Thai ~ Hakka restaurant in Stouffville. Huge menu selection, so many options, also for vegetarians! We come here to relax, or order in. Leslie our server always gives great service! Prices are very reasonable.

Stopped by the Zen while visiting Stoufville and was pleasantly surprised! The portion size for the lunch menu was amazing for the price and we had lots of leftovers for home as well.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful, really enjoyed coming here.
A special mention to the kindness of the staff, they were so nice and friendly! Service was wonderful, would def stop by again!

The Zen is a wonderful spot for Indian Hakka Chinese, Thai, and Guyanese cuisine. From the moment you walk in, Leslie and Ken create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes the experience truly special. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, with bold tastes and generous portions that really stand out. What sets this place apart is their thoughtful guidance—they take the time to understand your personal taste and always recommend the perfect dishes. Although we came late which was on our part, they were so welcoming and VERY VERY efficient, it was quick servicd, we got all of our food in under 15 minutes and it was all fresh!! Customer service was even better , checking on us to make sure we are enjoying the delicious food, and regarding the food, it was so so good and yummy, 10/10 recommend

Love the food and environment is amazing. The food was fresh and hot. Very delicious. The staff is very good and friendly. I would highly recommend this place for amazing halal Chinese. They don’t serve alcohol which is the best part.

The menu is huge, offering plenty of choices. I tried the Zen Special with fish, along with the back and leg chow mein. Overall, it was quite good. The portion size was good and the flavour was a couple of notches above average.
The fried chicken had a crispy, flavourful skin, though the inside was slightly bland. The fish was very good and the egg fried rice was also well done.
All in all, it’s good value for money.

Big Zen is an underrated gem of a Chinese restaurant! The entrees—hot garlic shrimp, ginger beef, and Zen special chicken—were absolutely delicious. The egg fried rice and noodles were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The customer service was outstanding, and the portions were generous without being greasy. Definitely a place I’ll be visiting again!
